True Hemp™ products donated to the North Valley Animal Disaster Group and Ventura County Animal Services
VERNON, BC – December 20, 2018 – True Leaf Medicine International Ltd. (“True Leaf” or the “Company”) (CSE: MJ) (OTCQB: TRLFF) (FSE: TLA), a leading global cannabis and hemp wellness brand for pets, has announced a donation to the North Valley Animal Disaster Group and Ventura County Animal Services to support their efforts to provide supplies and emergency care to hundreds of pets evacuated due to last month’s wildfires in California.
True Leaf donated nearly 1,000 packages of True Hemp™ functional treats and chew sticks to animal rescue efforts when strong winds ignited the destructive Camp, Hill, and Woolsey fires in California. The donation included True Hemp™ Calming, a product that helps to reduce anxiety in dogs during high-stress situations.
Deliveries were made to the North Valley Animal Disaster Group based in Oroville, California, a coalition of 250 to 300 volunteers who work to save animals from evacuation zones, and the Ventura County Animal Services, a group operating two animal shelters in southern California. That organization estimates it rescued 356 animals during the Hill and Woolsey fires alone.
“At True Leaf, we are inspired by the unconditional love our pets give us every day, and we are grateful for the opportunity to continually return that love through this program,” said Darcy Bomford, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of True Leaf. “We are happy to support the on-the-ground efforts of these hard-working rescue groups and volunteers.”
True Leaf launched its Return the Love™ program in February 2018 when it presented inaugural donations to St. John Ambulance, Canada’s leading first aid training and community service organization, and the BC Pets and Friends therapy dog programs.
Those donations supported the addition of volunteer therapy dog and handler teams to serve and benefit the well-being of seniors in care throughout the province.
In September, the program also shipped a donation of True Hemp™ products to the Lakes Animal Friendship Society to support their effort to care for animals evacuated due to wildfire in the north-central interior of British Columbia.
