VERNON, BCSeptember 5, 2018 – True Leaf Medicine International Ltd. (“True Leaf”) (CSE: MJ) (OTCQB: TRLFF) (FSE: TLA), a plant-forward wellness brand for people and their pets, has provided a donation of True Hemp™ pet products to the Lakes Animal Friendship Society to support its efforts to provide supplies and emergency care to  hundreds of animals evacuated due to wildfire in the Burns Lake area of British Columbia.

To support the Society’s on-the-ground response, True Leaf has donated an assortment of its all-natural, hemp-seed based pet supplements for animals that have been evacuated due to wildfire. This includes True Hemp™ Calming, a product that helps to reduce anxiety in dogs during high-stress situations.

The Lakes Animal Friendship Society is a non-profit organization working to improve the lives of companion animals in rural B.C. communities. The organization provides spay and neuter programs, food and shelter for animals in need, and animal welfare education for children.

“‘Return the Love’ is our purpose and why True Leaf exists,” said Darcy Bomford, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of True Leaf. “We’re inspired by our pets and their remarkable capacity for unconditional love. These evacuations are a stressful time for both people and their pets. We are happy to support the Lakes Animal Friendship Society’s efforts to ensure these pets receive the care they need during evacuation.”

“This donation from True Leaf is directly benefiting the well-being of pets impacted by the wildfires,” said Christina Wingfield, Program Coordinator at the Lakes Animal Friendship Society. “The True Hemp™ Supplement Sticks for calming have helped to reduce the stress and anxiety our dogs are experiencing. The effects of this disaster will ripple into the coming weeks, months, and years. We are grateful to everyone who remembers this and offers their support going forward.”

True Leaf launched its Return the Love™ program in February 2018 when it presented inaugural donations to St. John Ambulance, Canada’s leading first aid training and community service organization, and the BC Pets and Friends therapy dog programs.

Those donations supported the addition of volunteer therapy dog and handler teams to serve and benefit the well-being of seniors in care throughout the province.
