Hemp-seed Based Pet Products Receive NASC Quality Seal
True Leaf Medicine International, a Canadian-based wellness brand for people and animals, has received National Animal Supplement Council (NASC) certification for its True Hemp line of hemp-seed based pet chews, dental sticks, and supplement oils.
The NASC quality seal program was developed to identify products from companies committed to quality, vigilance, and continuous improvement to promote the well-being of companion animals and horses.
“NASC is one of the highest-level certifications in the pet industry,” True Leaf Founder and CEO Darcy Bomford said.
The company received the NASC seal after successfully passing a thorough quality audit and documentation review. The quality seal program is a vital part of the NASC’s efforts to help elevate and standardize the animal health supplement industry. To display the quality seal on a product, NASC member companies must successfully pass an independent facility audit every 2 years.
In addition, the companies must demonstrate ongoing compliance with criteria, including having a quality control manual in place that provides written standard operating procedures for production process control, submit to random product testing, and comply with stringent labeling guidelines.
True Hemp products are sold in more than 1800 stores across North America and Europe.
“Our True Hemp products will now display the NASC seal,” Bomford said, “meaning True Leaf has committed to the highest current standards of quality and safety in the animal supplement industry today."
